A quaint town in Northern California is suddenly being avoided. The town would previously welcome about 6,000 visitors a year but plans appear to have changed at the last minute. Many would-be visitors are now changing their routes or even heading to nearby Oregon instead.

The man said he had permission to build the makeshift home in Dr. Jose Rizal Park in Beacon Hill, but it was only stopped and arrested after a dissatisfied resident called cops six times. Genevieve Courtney, a park steward and volunteer, said she heard the man erratically before tearing into the open space bordering the orchard and dog park picnic area about 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
