McCarthy's son John McCarthy confirmed on Tuesday that he died of natural causes at his house in Sante Fe, New Mexico. McCarthy was known for such Western and apocalyptic novels as 'The Road,'Blood Meridian' and 'No Country for Old Men,' which were both Coen brothers' adaptations into an Academy Award-winning film of the same name. 'All the Pretty Horses' has received both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award.'
