Personal life
In 1993, Ferguson (then Masilo) married Neo Matsunyane, a fellow actor. They welcomed a daughter in December 1992. After five years of marriage, they divorced in 1998.
Ferguson met actress Shona Ferguson in July 2001. They married in November 2001, three years after she and Matsunyane's divorce. The couple welcomed a daughter in June 2002. Shona Ferguson died in the afternoon of 30 July 2021 from COVID-19-related problems after nearly 20 years of marriage.
Career
In 1994, she began playing a main role in Karabo Moroka, Tau Mogale's wife and sister to Archie Moroka in the most popular South African soap opera, Generations. She appeared in Menzi Ndaba, Slindile Nodangala, and Sophie Ndaba. Connie, who was in charge of Karabo Moroka for 16 years, announced her departure from Generations "to pursue other career paths" in 2010. Ferguson started Generations: The Legacy on four years ago, ending with a positive note.
After her retirement from Generations in 2010, she went on to appear in the lead role of M-Net's flagship film The Wild, which was shot at an exotic South African game farm. She appeared alongside her real-life husband before the film's cancellation in April 2013.
