After three of four USL Championship challengers were disqualified Wednesday night, only two non-MLS sides qualified to the Round of 16 in the US Open Cup. After the Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC shocked the MLS-leading New England Revolution on the road, there were hopes that Loudoun United FC or New Mexico United would call off a 'cupset' and knock off their opposition from the league above. Both teams were unfortunate that they were all handled well by their MLS opponents, and they will not advance to the US Open Cup.
