Career

Adlard began working in the United Kingdom on White Death with Robbie Morrison and the 2000 AD series, including Judge Dredd and Armitage. With the Savage series, he has been working for them.

He is best known in the United States for his series The X-Files (for Topps), Astronauts in Disarray (for AiT/Planet Lar) and The Walking Dead (for Image Comics).

He has been penciling on The Walking Dead since 2004.

Adlard was one of many artists to create a variant cover for Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead #100, which was released 11 July at the San Diego Comic-Con.

With the forthcoming sequel "The Walking Dead: Dead City," the Walking Dead universe is expanding even more. The popular zombie, post-apocalyptic saga is based on Robert Kirkman's eponymous comic book series, Charlie Adlard, and Tony Moore's. "The Walking Dead," a long-running AMC series that premiered in 2010, is now in its 11th and final season, as well as "The Walking Dead" — which premiered in 2015, which hasspawned several offshoots, including 2015's "Fear the Walking Dead" and "The Walking Dead: Beyond" which ended after two seasons that aired between 2020 and 2021. Among the new Walking Dead spinoff series officially launched, "The Walking Dead: Isle of the Dead" is one of many, including the anthology "Tales of the Walking Dead" (which premiered in September 2022) and an untitled project starring Daryl (Norman Reedus) as the lead. Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) will navigate a dystopic Manhattan together on "Dead City."
