On the 10th tee of the final round of the PGA Championship, Bryson DeChambeau captured the hearts of the golf world. An older man reached in front of a young kid and snatched the ball DeChambeau had tossed to him. DeChambeau immediately halted, backtracked and confronted the man. In the thick of the tournament, he wouldn't have been blamed for missing it but instead, it became a move that earned him praise as a 'man of the people'. It was a long way from the beefy disruptor of the past few years but somehow, at Valhalla, DeChambeau completed his transformation from LIV Golf villain to the hero of the PGA Championship.

Cameron Smith putts together to round off his round of 4-under 68 and allow him to overtake Dustin Johnson on the third and final day of the LIV Golf Invitational-Chicago. Saturday at Rich Harvest Farms was such a struggle that he shot over par for the first time in the 14 rounds he had participated in the Saudi-funded tournament, as straightforward as Johnson made it look in the first round. Johnson was fortunate that Smith's deficit was limited to just two shots. On the par-4 17th, he came up a few yards short of the green and had to make an 8-foot par putt, but Smith took the lead for the first time with his 7-foot birdie putt.

Dustin Johnson is already over $100,000 in the Saudi-funded LIV Golf series, and he's soaring as a result. After the first round of the LIV Golf Invitational-Chicago, Johnson shot off nine birdies, none longer than 12 feet, and posted a 9-under 63 at Rich Harvest Farms on Friday, building a three-shot lead. Johnson is coming off a playoff win two weeks ago outside Boston, and his squad has won the last two tournaments, but his earnings in four starts are just over $9.9 million. That's more than his best season on the PGA Tour so far, with 22 starts.
