A Pennsylvania woman celebrated her 100th birthday with a party with her husband of 78 years, who had only celebrated the occasion just months before. Sharlet Johnson was born in 1924, the same year Calvin Coolidge won the presidency and a gallon of milk cost just 28 cents. Geisinger 65 Forward, a nursing home near Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, celebrated her centennial year. Both she and her husband Marshall are patients at the hospital, where his own birthday party was also held when he turned 100 in July.

Arthur Gordon Jones-Williams (pictured left) was given the Military Cross in July 1917, aged just 18, for attacking 12 German aircraft all at once and destroying one before achieving in wrecking one and destroying another. He repeated the feat two weeks later, displaying his 'utmost dash' and "the most offensive spirit," as he was rewarded with a Bar for his Military Cross. Now the pilot's WWI medals (pictured) are up for auction at Dominic Winter Auctioneers in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, along with notes he passed to his co-pilot on his epic flight to India, logbooks, trophies, pictures, and his gold Aero Club medal (bottom right) awarded by his mother for his son's services after he died.

The discovery of a man and a woman inside a house in a wealthy Brisbane suburb has stunned a quiet cul-de-sac, a tragedy that police have described as both frightening and traumatic. Around 9.40 a.m. on Monday morning, police rushed to a home in Coolidge Court, St. John, in the city's south, and discovered the bodies of a woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s upstairs in'suspicious' circumstances.'
