Early life

Bunji was born in Arima, Trinidad, on July 14, 1978. He is of the Saint Lucian and Venezuelan descent.

Personal life

Fay-Ann Lyons, a successful soca singer, married her sister Fay-Ann Lyons on December 23, 2006. He is also a second cousin of singer Patrice Roberts, who appears alongside the infamous Machel Montano.

Bunji Garlin Career

Career

Bunji has won Soca Monarch/International Soca Monarchy Festival on several occasions: "Down in the Ghetto" (Da Ma$tamind) and "Fiery," 2004, as well as "Blaze the Fire," 2005, when his pregnant wife Fay-Ann Lyons placed second in the International Soca Monarch competition for the second time. She also won the Groovy Soca Monarch crown on the same night with "Heavy T Bumpa."

Bunji Garlin's "Brrt" is included on the Grand Theft Auto IV soundtrack.

Garlin received the Soul Train Award for Best International Performance for the track "Differentology," which features Nigel Rojas on guitar. In August 2014, RCA Records and VP Records released an album of the same name.

Turn Up, his highest US chart position to date, took place in 2017, landing no. 58. On the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, there are three of them.
