An ex-student has been charged with going on a stabbing spree. Two female students were knifed at ANU in Canberra on Monday afternoon, and Alex Ophel, 24, was arrested. On Tuesday, Mr Ophel was charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault, and one count of unlawfully possessing an object is charged.

An ex-student detained at the Australian National University was charged with trying to murder his classmates at the same university six years ago. After two female students were stabbed at ANU in Canberra on Monday afternoon, Alex Ophel, 24, was arrested. When emergency services arrived at the hospital, the two women, both aged 20, were admitted to the hospital. One of the two people is in a critical state, and the other is in a stable state.
