Set at Morrison-Hensley High School, English Teacher follows Mr. Evan Marquez (Brian) as he finds himself at the intersection of the professional, political, and personal aspects of working at a high school. He joins the rest of the school faculty who are struggling to connect and form a bond with their Gen Z students. Also at Morrison-Hensley High is his Evan's best friend Gwen Sanders (Stephanie Koenig), an optimistic and personable history teacher.

After taking pictures of NBA star Kobe Bryant's body at the helicopter crash site and returning his work computer without a hard drive, the former LA fire captain tarnished' his reputation. Since the photographs of the January 2020 tragedy were shared by officers, Bryant's widow, Vanessa, is suing the LA County fire department and the sheriff's office for invasion of privacy. On Monday, acting fire chief Anthony Marrone testified that he had never told Capt. Brian Jordan would photograph the helicopter crash site that killed eight people, including the NBA superstar and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.

On Friday, Vanessa Bryant burst into tears as she recalled the moment she learned first responders had leaked photographs of her husband Kobe's horrific helicopter crash. After hearing media accounts of the pictures, Bryant cranked her up and gasped for air as she testified she had to run outside her house so her children wouldn't see her screaming. 'I can't leave my body.' To the court, she said, "I can't escape what I feel."

On Tuesday, Sky Cornell (top left), a public information officer with the LA County Fire Department, informed a jury that first responders went into damage control after it became public that they posted photographs of the helicopter crash (right) that killed Bryant, 41, and his daughter, Gianna 13, who died in 2020. According to TMZ, Cornell had confessed to prosecutors that he 'wanted to see Kobe' as the images were shared. 'Just a reminder folks, there are no secrets! According to Cornell, "one way or another people are exposed." Tony Imbrenda (bottom left), a colleague who admitted to sharing the images at an awards gala, referred to them as 'plutonium,' and that he needed to'get rid of them.' It's the most recent case in the courtroom after Vanessa brought a lawsuit against the LA County fire department and the sheriff's office for invasion of privacy after officers' photos of the accident were posted.

On Tuesday, deputy Michael Russell (left) told an LA jury that he texted photographs of the crash to Santa Clarita Sheriff's Deputy Ben Sanchez, a day after Kobe, 41, and his daughter, Gianna, 13, were killed in 2020. Russell said he was playing the popular shooting game with Sanchez when he told the deputy that he retrieved photos of the crime scene from fellow LA Deputy Joey Cruz. Cruz (right) testified on Tuesday and admitted that he showed off photos of the crash to a bartender in the hopes of 'easing the anxiety' he had been dealing with from the investigation. Since the photographs of the accident were published by officers, Bryant's widow, Vanessa (inset), is suing the LA County fire department and the sheriff's office for invasion of privacy.
