A paedophile, who was caught viewing indecent images of children by cutting edge AI technology, has been jailed. Thomas Young (left), 34, had installed the software on his phone, which captured and screenshot any activity deemed to be suspicious or concerning by AI. Two indecent category C images were logged on 15 March and a further four were detected just three days later, along with a category A image, the most serious. All images had been accessed via the Telegram app, Carlisle Crown Court (right) heard, before sentencing him to 18 months in prison.

Bill Gass (centre), a Royal Navy veteran who served in Prince Philip's flotilla during the Second World War, and his partner Annie (right) had no idea' they were victims of what a judge described as a 'dreadful offence.' Rebecca Fidler (left), 34, was regarded by the couple as 'extremely helpful,' to the extent that they permitted her to make pension withdrawals with their bank cards. Mrs Gass, the former shop manager, had even left her money in her will. Fidler made virtually no money between September 2019 and April 2021, in reality. And after her detention, the three children's mother returned to Mr and Mrs Gass' home in Carlisle in an effort to find out what they'd told police and asked them to 'take responsibility.'
