Boone Logan (born August 13, 1984) is an American professional baseball relief pitcher.

He has played for the Chicago White Sox, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, and Milwaukee Brewers.

Early life

Logan grew up in Helotes, Texas, and attended Sandra Day O'Connor High School in Helotes, Texas. In 2003, he attended and pitched for Temple College in Temple, Texas.

Playing career

Logan was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 20th round (600th overall) of the 2002 Major League Baseball draft. During spring training in 2006, he went from the Sox's Rookie League affiliate, the Great Falls White Sox, straight to the major league team. Logan made his Major League debut against the Cleveland Indians on April 4, 2006. Logan made 21 relief appearances with just one save in 2006, but he had a 3.9 ERA in the Majors that year.

Logan appeared in 68 relief appearances in 2007 and was 2–1 with a 4.97 ERA. In 2008, he made 55 appearances, going 2–3 with a 5.95 ERA.

Logan, along with Javier Vázquez, was traded by the Atlanta Braves to minor league catcher Tyler Flowers, shortstop Brent Lillibridge, third baseman Jon Gilmore, and pitcher Santos Rodriguez on December 4, 2008.

Logan made 20 relief appearances in 2009, totaling 1–1 with a 5.19 ERA.

Logan was traded along with Javier Vázquez for Melky Cabrera, as well as prospects Michael Dunn and Arodys Vizcano, on December 22, 2009. Logan was recalled by the Yankees on April 16, 2010 to replace Chan Ho Park in the Yankee bullpen. Logan made 51 relief appearances in 2010, ending with a 2.93 ERA.

With a 3.46 ERA, he made 64 relief appearances in 2011 going 5–3. Logan made a career out of work in 2012, going 7–2 with one save and a 3.74 ERA.

He appeared in 61 appearances from the bullpen in 2013, going 5–2 with a 3.23 ERA. Logan underwent bone spur removal surgery in his left elbow on October 4, 2013. At the end of the season, he became a free agent.

Logan agreed to a three-year, $16.5 million contract with the Colorado Rockies on December 16, 2013.

Logan underwent surgery in his left elbow to fix a bone spur, effectively ending his 2014 season. Logan went 2–3 with a 6.84 ERA in 35 games.

Logan appeared in 60 games for the Rockies over the course of the season, going 0–3 with a 4.33 ERA. He went 2-5 with a 3.69 ERA in 2016.

Logan signed with the Cleveland Indians for a one-year deal with the option for the 2018 season on February 7, 2017. He was 1–0 in 38 games with Cleveland, a 4.71 ERA.

Logan's deal for the 2018 season came as a free agent, which made him the Indians' right to exercise their club option on Logan's 2018 deal.

Logan signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers worth $1.875 million on January 10, 2018. Logan was chosen for service on June 19, and was released on June 24.
