Bernard Hopkins, a golden Boy Promotions executive and boxing hero, has been accused of rubbing testosterone cream on Gervonta Davis in an alleged attempt to smear the fighter's blood sample ahead of Saturday's match against Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas. After Friday's weigh-in, Garcia, who is promoted by Golden Boy, had a dramatic face-off with Davis, which briefly devolved into a shoving match between the two 136-pound fighters. Hopkins stood on the periphery of the conversation and threw his hand across Davis' back at one point, bringing the Baltimore native and his camp's ire. In a since-deleted tweet, Davis wrote, 'I should've slapped the s*** outta B-Hop as soon as he touched me.' Davis' manager Calvin Ford promoted a belief on social media that Hopkins was rubbing testosterone cream on the 28-year-old's back in order to taint a drug test.

Oscar De La Hoya took down a tweet in which he slammed Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin's trilogy fight, as well as his sluggish sluggish performance in Las Vegas. On Saturday night, Canelo and Golovkin met for the third time after two thrilling competitions in 2017 and 2018 that resulted in contentious decisions by the judges. The match struggled to live up to the hype, with Golovkin unable to act as much for the majority of the match, while Canelo boxed his way to a dramatic win. De La Hoya was terribly dissatisfied with the fight and expressed his dissatisfaction on Twitter later.
