In the morgue, a mother (pictured, left) has shared the horrific moment she went to see her 'unrecognizable' son, 19, when he was killed by a 'overindulged' teenage driver. Ben Rogers (right) died after being driven by Owain Hammett-George (inset), then 17, at speeds of up to 78 mph in a 30 mph zone in Bishoptown, Swansea. Owain Hammett-George (left) was 17 when he rode at 78 mph on a 30mph road in his $21,000 Alfa Romeo, which was bought for him by his father, a businessman, for failing his driving exam. Ben Rogers and Kaitlyn Davies, both 19, were killed immediately, while Casey Thomas, 19, of Birchgrove, Swansea, sustained life-changing injuries after admitting to causing death by reckless driving on Thursday. Hammett-George had been caught speeding just a week after passing his exam in February 2022, but his father, Dewi George (right), accepted the blame for his failure, not to exclude him from receiving points on his licence.

A father has been sentenced to prison for speeding so his newly licensed driver son could avoid points on his license months before a horrific crash killed two teenagers. After being caught speeding in his father's Alfa Romeo, Dewi George, 47, (pictured) accepted the speeding points to shield 17-year-old Owain Hammett-George's driving license. When it crashed, the teenager was behind the wheel of the same vehicle three months earlier, killing two 19-year-olds. Hammett-George was driving near the Northway petrol station in Bishopston, Gower, with three passengers aboard, claiming the lives of teenagers Kaitlyn Davies and Ben Rogers.
TOM LEONARD: How Idaho suspect could be latest fiend to use forensics knowledge to cover tracks

LEONARD: Bryan Kohberger, a criminology PhD student, loved primarily to show how clever he was, according to his classmates. If Kohberger, 28, really is the monster who stabbed four Idaho students to death four Idaho students in their beds, the evaluation of those who studied alongside and taught him may reveal important information about why he did it. Particularly after the chilling revelations of a recently released police affidavit that resulted in his deposition, it's unlikely that - assuming he is the murderer - Kohberger's interest in criminology and criminal behavior isn't relevant to the situation. Although the accusation does not specify a motive, it does suggest that a little study might have been a risky thing if Kohberger's limited experience with forensics convinced him that a quadruple murder was a risk.

Ashleigh Rogers, 26, a childminder from Swansea, Wales, lost her brother Ben Rogers, 19, in a deadly car accident in May, but she decided she wanted to attend the festival with his friends in his honor. Ashleigh couldn't believe the overwhelmingly positive response she got from people who wanted their photo with Ben and how people loved what she'd done, despite taking the cardboard cut-out with her. Ashleigh revealed that Ben's cut-out attracted a lot of female interest, with the cut-out covered in lipstick from the massive number of kisses it received by the time of the Escape Festival in her hometown by the end of the Escape Festival.
