On Tuesday, the Class of 2022 was muted on a Zoom call with Miss Universe President Paula Shugart about the rigging and favoritism allegations. Heather Lee O'Keefe, 25, of Montana, wrote: "The Miss USA Class of 2022 was silenced and ignored by [the] company this morning.' The call lasted ten minutes, and the contestants maintain that the questions they asked the night before were not answered. R'Bonney Gabriel, 28, of Houston, will represent the United States in the international pageant, according to Miss Universe, and she told DailyMail.com that there was "no rigging." Several contestants took to social media to condemn the company's "injustice" and its legitimacy. On January 14, the Miss Universe pageant will take place in New Orleans.
