EXCLUSIVE: Sidney Cooke, the United Kingdom's most popular paedophile, has failed in his newest attempt to be released from prison at the age of 96, after the Parole Board decided he still poses 'a significant risk of serious harm to children.' The horrific sex murderer and child killer was told today (22/5) that his appeal to be released on licence was dismissed, but that he would not be sent to an open prison. Cooke's executioner, Jason Swift, will spend at least two years in prison, making him one of the country's oldest prisoners. His most recent failed request for release – his 11th since being eligible for parole in 2004 – means he will continue in a Category A jail under stringent security safeguards. The Parole Board was told by psychiatrists and others who worked with him in jail that they did not recommend his release in a derogatory summary of Cooke's continuing danger to society.
