On Sunday, Sacramento Republic forward Da'vian Kimbrough became the youngest player in U.S. soccer history to make his professional debut. In the 87th minute of Sacramento Republic's 2-0 victory over the Las Vegas Lights, Kimbrough, 13 years, 7 months, and 13 days old, played a USL Championship match. Kimbrough, a native of Woodland, Calif., joined the club in August to become the country's youngest professional player. Maximo Carrizo, who signed with New York City FC's senior team on his 14th birthday in February 2022, held the record before.
