They are either so delayed or mostly absent for the most extraordinary feminist movement for equality. The uprising that started in Iran for women and their choice for their bodies. Men are dying on the streets for women shouting women, life, freedom. I know it’s the Middle East and there is not western “white” blood involved but this is not a regional movement. It’s mondial. The song in this video is called “Baraye” by Shervin Hajipour, who was arrested by Iranian authorities last Thursday immediately after the release of the song. However, the song, which is a compilation of all the grievances Iranians have with the current government, has become the anthem of the current movement. Hajipour was released today on bail. RP golfarahani Today is her birthday #nikashakarami She was 17 years old. She left her house to join the protests on September 20th, she protested, she burnt her Hijab and she went missing. 9 days later, her family was informed at the police station that somebody with similar characteristics was discovered in Kahrizak forensics. Shakarami’s family was not allowed to see her head when they went to identify the body. The teenager’s nose had been smashed and her skull broken from multiple hits by a heavy object, possibly a baton. Shakarami’s family was threatened and told not to hold a memorial service for her. Happy birthday #nikashakarami
