I couldn't see a face,' recalled Matt, who was sleeping on a relative's couch when traveling in the United States in the summer of 1986. I can't remember the color, except for the white teeth with the exposed flesh of the gums around it, as if the face and lips had been peeled away.' After the BBC daytime staple Doctors was axed after 23 years, TV soaps could be made 'entirely' by AI in just three years' time, the top producer tells MPs

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 21, 2024
According to a top producer, generative artificial intelligence could make TV soaps 'entirely' in a matter of three to five years' time. James Hawes, whose hits include Slow Horses and Anthony Hopkins' One Life, has revealed that AI could make a show like axed BBC1 soap Doctors. The 'best guess' was that it would be 'between three to five years' before someone could ask AI to 'create me a scene in an ER room,' with a woman, while another is 'dying on the table,' according to him. Mr Hawes said he came to this conclusion after speaking with representatives from various segments of the industry, including visual effects specialists and attorneys at American unions. He warned that he had seen evidence that led him to the conclusion that he was going to see changes 'dramatically and quickly,' adding that the 'genie is out of the bottle' and that programmers will have to live with this.

PETER HITCHENS: Make the Post Office chief keep her CBE as a reminder of how justice was stangled a few years ago

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 6, 2024
The victims of the Post Office computer hack scandal will never be convicted of justice. In some cases, they have lost more than others. Years of what should have been joyful and enriched lives have been stolen. Good names have been stolen and grudgingly recovered years later. Innocent people have been held captive in jail, a crime that is impossible to get out of your mind. Marriages have been torn apart. These ill-treated people in some tragic situations have clearly lost their minds or taken their own lives. I will not participate in the simple call for the removal of the CBE from Paula Vennells, the former Chief Executive of the Post Office. I believe she should be compelled to keep it as a lifelong reminder to her and the rest of us of how justice and mercy have been stangled in this world.
