After qualifying on the sixth hole of a playoff Monday, LIV Golf rebel Carlos Ortiz snuck into the US Open. Golfers from around the world and Canada were competing for a spot in the US Open at Los Angeles Country Club on Monday on June 15 over 36 holes. Ortiz, who jumped ship to Saudi-backed LIV, was keen to participate in the big championship the old fashioned way, and he did well. Jaden Soong's parents will have to call their son's middle school with an unusual reason for his absence: the 13-year-old will be too crowded qualifying for the U.S. Open to attend. Soong has the opportunity to finish well enough in the 36-hole final round of qualifying at Hillcrest Country Club in Los Angeles on Monday. The Burbank, California native only stands at 5-foot-2 and weighs 115 pounds, but he can carry the ball up to 280 yards.
