Members of a gang who murdered a man by throwing ammonia in his face as part of a violent campaign to control the drugs trade in a community have been told they must serve minimum jail terms of up to 33 years. Newcastle Crown Court heard how Andy Foster, 26, (right) died in what a judge described as a 'cruel and terrifying' attack at his home in Wrekenton, Gateshead, in August 2023. On Friday, leader of the drugs gang Youssef Wynne, 40, (left) of Wuppertal Court, Jarrow, was jailed for life by the judge, Mr Justice Dove, who ordered him to serve at least 33 years before he is considered for parole. Three other men were jailed for life over Mr Foster's murder. Kenneth Fawcett, 33, of Balkwell Avenue, North Shields, who was described by the judge as Wynne's 'willing enforcer' was given a 32-year tariff; John Wandless, 33, of no fixed address, was given a 31-year tariff; and Josh Hawthorn, 22, of Ashfield, Jarrow, was given a 22-year tariff.

The California State Athletic Commission has suspended Usman Nurmagomedov, the cousin of UFC legend Khabib, for six months after testing positive for a prohibited drug. Nurmagomedov has also been fined $60,000 for his heroic fight against Brent Primus at Bellator 300, who also received a $50,000 fine. The contest has now been declared a no contest. 'I was told by Andy Foster that my Bellator 300 Usman Nurmagomedov opponent tested positive for a banned drug, and the match has been declared a No Contest,' Primus said in a tweet.'
When he answered the door of his house, a fourth man was charged with murder, he was'sprayed in the face with ammonia when he answered the door.'

On August 20, Andy Foster was wounded as he opened the door at an address on Eighton Terrace in Wrekenton, Gateshead. He died in hospital later that day. Three men have been charged with their murder and have been detained in jail. On Friday, officers made two more arrests, and in the spouting of Mr Foster's murder, Yousef Wynne, 39, of Wuppertal Court, Jarrow, was charged with the murder of Mr Foster. He has been released in detention and is set to appear in court in South Tyneside on Monday, November 13. A 24-year-old woman was released on police bail after being arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
