Skiddaw House: The loneliest home in the United Kingdom, with three mountains and 3,000 acres, is up for auction for £10 million

This week, Britain's 'loneliest' house, which features three mountains and 3,000 acres of spectacular Lake District property, will be auctioned for £10 million. Auctioneers have characterized Skiddaw House in Cumbria as England's "most remote home." It is inaccessible by car and by the shortest walking route to Threlkeld, which takes about an hour and 20 minutes. Meanwhile, the nearest pub in Bassenthwaite village is almost four miles away, and the nearest store, in Keswick, is five miles away. Despite being one of Rightmove's most viewed homes, the property first went on the Rightmove in 2021, but it failed to sell due to a lack of heat and internet, a remote location, and inaccessibility. It is back - this time on sale once more, along with 3,000 acres of stunning property, including Skiddaw Forest, Skiddaw Peak, and Great and Little Calva.
