Sunday's NFL season opener was not particularly kind to fans of the New York Giants - with many so fed up with quarterback Daniel Jones that they've taken to burning the signal caller's merchandise. Irascible Giants fans burned their Jones jerseys in effigy in the parking lot of MetLife Stadium in the aftermath of a 28-6 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. A fan was seen using non-stick spray to spread the flames over two of the quarterback's jerseys on the asphalt.

Jones will not be playing when the team heads upstate on Sunday, according to legendary head coach Brian Daboll. The result of Andrew Van Ginkel's injury and suspension from Sunday's game was responsible for Jones' suspension and withdrawal from the game. Jones' head snapped back when contact was restored in a play where the Dolphins' linebacker was able to get a sack from behind. 'I think he's getting better,' Daboll said. 'But not good enough to play for this game,' says the game's director.'

Due to a neck injury, New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones was forced to miss the Miami Dolphins' game early Sunday. Jones seemed to be given a scathing dismissal by Miami's Andrew Van Ginkel and was treated on the sideline in the medical tent. He was eventually admitted to the locker room, but the Giants ruled him out for the day.
