Teenage darts superstar Luke Littler will reportedly be the guest player on the Bullseye reboot. The World Championship runner-up and Premier League champion will join new host Andrew  Flintoff on the Christmas special of the revived quiz show, according to The Sun. Littler's incredible and rapid rise is said to have played a big factor in the decision by ITV chiefs to bring the show back.

RICHARD GIBSON: Flintoff's opening assignment as Lions coach is a 25-day tour of South Africa beginning on November 20, working on both red and white-ball skills and concluding with a four-day match against South Africa A. Umar, 18, died in hospital yesterday after being seriously injured while at the wheel of an Audi A3 Sport which veered off the road in Preston, Lancashire on Tuesday and crashed into trees. Flintoff's right-hand man on the show, Kyle Hogg, shared the news of Umar's passing on his Instagram story with a broken heart emoji. Umar's father, Shahid Mahmood also said he is 'heartbroken' and told MailOnline: 'He was just a young lad. To lose my young son is terrible.'

Umar's father, Shahid Mahmood, told MailOnline: 'I am heartbroken. He was just a young lad. To lose my young son is terrible.I am very sad. It is his funeral later today so I will go the mosque later. His mother is doing OK but we are very sad.' Back seat passenger 16-year-old Adam Bodi also suffered fatal injuries while a 17-year-old who was also in the car remains in hospital, with police investigating the cause of the double tragedy. Umar had been filmed being coached by the England cricket legend in 'Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams'.

Andrew Flintoff has been appointed England Lions coach on an initial 12-month agreement. Flintoff, 46, will begin work in October, overseeing tours to South Africa and Australia either side of Christmas and home matches against India A and Zimbabwe next summer. The former England captain's rise through the coaching ranks over the past year has been catalysed by the ECB's men's director Rob Key, a close friend, who believes he has similar motivational qualities required to work at the highest level as those of Brendon McCullum.

Lying on a bed, with wounds visible on his face, he admits he needs to stop 'crying every two minutes'.

LAWRENCE BOOTH: Matthew Mott has been sacked as England's white-ball coach, confirming the game's worst-kept secret and handing captain Jos Buttler the chance to reboot two failing limited-overs sides with an appointment more to his liking. The aim is to have a full-time coach in place for the tour of the West Indies in late October, with Andrew Flintoff, Eoin Morgan and Vikram Solanki among the likely candidates. The Australian Mott, who had settled into family life in Cardiff and leaves halfway through his four-year contract, paid the price for two underwhelming World Cup defences.

Key also plumped for Matthew Mott soon after he arrived as the ECB's director of men's cricket in the spring of 2022, but has found himself conducting a white-ball review this week following two underwhelming World Cup title defences within the space of eight months. Change now feels inevitable after a team fronted by Mott and captained by Jos Buttler followed up crashing out in the group stages of the 50-over event on the subcontinent last November, with just three wins in nine matches, by losing to eventual winners India in the semi-final of the Twenty20 version in Guyana.

No decision is expected on the future of either Buttler or head coach Matthew Mott until after the third Test against West Indies, starting at Edgbaston on Friday- though speculation has long been rife that Brook is among the candidates.

Rocky Flintoff hit a match-winning 106 as England Under-19s chased down 288 to beat a Young Lions Invitational XI by two wickets at Loughborough. The 16-year-old son of former England all-rounder Andrew hit eight fours and three sixes in a 111-ball innings which steered his side to victory after they lost both openers in the first five overs. Flintoff and Charlie Allison put on 81 for the fifth wicket as they eased the Under-19s back into a game which was rapidly slipping away from them.

Rocky Flintoff, the 16-year-old son of 2005 Ashes star Andrew Flintoff, has received his maiden England call-up. Flintoff junior, currently sitting his GCSEs, was on Tuesday named in the 16-strong England Under-19 squad to face Sri Lanka in three one-day internationals. In April, he struck his first men's hundred for Lancashire, playing for the second XI against Warwickshire just a fortnight after his 16th birthday.
