A small screen is expected to be treated to a 10-part Amazon Prime series, with a book referred to as "feminist sci-fi." Toni Collette (pictured) has just been confirmed to act in The Power, a dystopian satire that has been compared to Margaret Atwood's novel The Handmaid's Tale. According to a studio synopsis of the adaptation, a group of teenage girls mysteriously develops a special ability that allows them to electrocute people at will. The teenagers then realize they can awaken the power in older women, which leads to female dominance of the world, using their power to wield control, and even killing the men who are in conflict in certain situations.
