It follows a summer in which Ten Hag kept his job despite sweeping changes of the football operation at United, and identified three areas where he wants his team to step up this season.

Antony is reportedly pushing for a loan move away from Manchester United as he attempts to revive his career. The Brazilian winger, 24, has endured a disastrous time at Old Trafford since joining from Ajax for an £86million fee in 2022. He has played just one minute of Premier League action so far this season and looks to be firmly out of favour under Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United's wages for the 2024-25 season have been revealed with three players currently earning more than £300,000 a week.  Captain Bruno Fernandes penned a new three-year deal last month, bringing him in line with the club's highest earners after he previously was on a £240,000 a week deal. With this, he joins two struggling stars in the top three.

The summer transfer window may have come and gone for team in England, but it remains open in various other locations around the world, including Turkey, where Fenerbahce are based. Teams in the country can complete deals up until September 13, meaning a number of Premier League clubs could still lose some of their players in the coming days. McLeish, who also edited the club's official magazine Inside United, has been in the job for 18 years since he began in in 2006. It's understood that chief content officer Ian Nolan is staying as part of the restructuring. McLeish's exit is one of 250 redundancies being made by Ineos to save money and streamline the business following Ratcliffe's £1.3billion investment.

Danny Welbeck gave the hosts the lead against his former club in the 32nd minute, scoring his 100th career goal in the process. He almost doubled Brighton's advantage after the break, only for his close-range header to come back off the crossbar. That miss appeared costly as moments later Amad Diallo latched onto a through ball before firing home via a deflection to bring United level. 

Manchester United winger Amad Diallo delivered some tragic news on Friday when he confirmed the death of his mother. The 22-year-old Premier League star shared a photo of his late mum on Snapchat along with the message, written in French: 'Rest in peace Mum, may Allah forgive you.' It is currently unclear whether or not Amad will now be withdrawn from United's squad for Saturday's Premier League game away at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Red Devils were forced to come from behind when Iker Losada smashed the ball into the back of the net for the Spanish side after just 15 minutes. Within two minutes of conceding, United were given the chance to equalise when Amad Diallo was hacked down inside the area. Marcus Rashford duly slotted the spot kick away before Amad Diallo and Casemeiro added the second and third goals within 13 minutes. Former Leeds defender Diego Llorente did pull a goal back for Betis in the second half, but United held on for the victory. Amad Diallo says he would like to stay at Manchester United 'for life' following talks with manager Erik ten Hag this summer. The Ivory Coast winger only made 12 appearances for United last season after back-to-back loan spells at Sunderland and Rangers. But Diallo enjoyed a strong end to the season after scoring a sensational injury-time winner against Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, and is determined to stake his claim for a regular first-team place after speaking to Ten Hag.
