Around half of college graduates will be working in careers where their degrees are not relevant and go in a different direction than they had expected. According to a recent report that followed the careers of more than ten million college graduates, 52% of them are underemployed in the first year, only after they earned their degrees. After five postgraduate years, the survey also shows that 53% of college graduates will not have a career that necessitates the skills required for their degree. The data was released earlier this month by the Burning Glass Institute and the Strada Education Foundation.
