Some of the world's top climbers say this city beats out most other 'nature-oriented' metropolitan areas around the country. 'Free Solo's' Alex Honnold says he thinks it's 'better than any of the other cities in the country that have a reputation for being outdoorsy.'

Alex Honnold first shot to fame in 2018 when he became the first person in the world to scale the sheer face of Yosemite's El Capitan with no rope. Ingmikortilaq of Greenland is one of the world's biggest unclimbed rock faces. Alex was blinded by freezing blizzards, had his face cut open by falling ice, and negotiated a minefield of hidden crevasses, all before he reached the cliff.

Joe Baker retaliated against those who doubted whether his eight-year-old son Sam was really the youngest person to ever summit El Capitan. Sam completed scaling the 3,000-foot summit over the weekend with the help of ropes and a mechanical device called a ascender. Some hardened climbers argued that Sam didn't even scale the rock with his hands that he couldn't scale the summit, he didn't actually scale the mountain. Baker also deceived the public in the media rounds, according to critics who argued for his appointment before the ascent. Baker said the opponents were arguing semantics because he used the word 'climb' in public, and wondered how far these challenges might go.
