A young boy becomes obsessed with police procedural television programs. After witnessing a murder he refuses to testify in the case unless he is given the opportunity to become a cop. The buddy comedy film was directed by Henry Winkler.

Trivia

Actors Macaulay Culkin and Kurt Russell were both approached to star in the film, but later backed out. Burt Reynolds won the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor for his performance.
