Irish-English alternative rock band who are known for having been pioneers of the shoegaze sub genre. Their 1991 album Loveless is often considered to be one of the best albums to come out of the 1990's. They disbanded in 1997 but came back together for a reunion tour a decade later.

In 2013, they released their long delayed third studio album m b v. In 2021, they signed with Domino Recording Company.
