About

Teresa Mendoza falls in love with a member of a violent drug cartel. She is later forced to flee the country after said boyfriend is murdered. She ends up becoming a refugee and heads to the US in hopes of finding help to exact her revenge.

Trivia

The series is an adaptation of Arturo Pérez-Reverte's novel The Queen of the South. The show's production was suspended indefinitely in March of 2020 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
