Zio Ziegler (born 1988) is an American artist known best for his paintings and murals, many of which appear in the Mission District of San Francisco, as well as around the world such as Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, Italy, and more.

Early life and education
Ziegler was born February 18, 1988,. He studied art at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, and graduated with a BFA in painting from RISD in 2010.
Career
Ziegler is best known for both painting and murals, claiming that his works are mainly inspired by literature, French Modernism, and Architecture. His art works are based on "repeated motifs of primitive designs, gigantism, and distortion" and are improvisational rather than meticulously planned.
Ziegler's Murals can be found on buildings around the world, including Tokyo, Los Angeles, London, Italy, and others. A 135 foot (41 m) mural on the Cathedral Building in Oakland, California, designed by the United Nations Foundation to commemorate the United Nations Charter's 70th anniversary of the signing of the United Nations Charter, and a 15,000 square foot (1,400 m2) mural on a Tillys warehouse in Irvine, California, which is visible daily to nearly 240,000 commuters. As part of an article on Design Boom, his mural on the factory doors of Italian bicycle manufacturer Cinelli was included.
Ziegler's paintings have been on view throughout the world. He appeared with French artist Pierre Roy-Camille shortly after returning from traveling around the world for various exhibits. He also participated in an Istanbul Contemporary Art Museum exhibition in 2015, being included in the solo artist section.
