Heroic tree surgeon Cameron Brooksbank, 24, (left) who was found dead six years after helping to send a drugs boss to jail following a savage axe attack died with cocaine and five other drugs in his system, an inquest has heard.
Cameron was tragically pronounced dead after being found unresponsive at an address in Middleton, Rochdale, Greater Manchester on June 18 last year.
It came six years after he was subjected to a brutal axe assault in 2017 in Rochdale after trying to defend an elderly woman during a road rage incident.
After several gruelling surgeries to reattach his hand which was almost fully severed in the onslaught, he bravely twice gave evidence in court against his attacker - high-ranking drug dealer Mohammed Awais Sajid (right) - which led to him being jailed for 18 years.
Cameron later appeared on BBC fly-on-the-wall series The Detectives (right) and spoke movingly about how the axe attack meant he was no longer 'the same person'.

Following an episode of the BBC quiz show starring Melika Gorgianeh and her team members, representing the University of Oxford's Christ Church College, the politician from Liverpool had unfounded charges. On X, the former MEP referred to the octopus soft toy, which is used as a mascot by the team, as one of the team's most "disgusting antisemitic symbols." Ms Gorgianeh was also accused of wearing the Palestinian flag's colors, prompting the student to be "excluded" by her university and 'arrested' by the police.
