Rhiannon Adam, a native of Ireland and based in Hackney, London, will be on board. She is the only female on the team, but she will become the first openly queer woman to fly. If any of the eight people have to cancel, Olympic snowboarder Kaitlyn Farrington and Japanese dancer Miyu have also been selected as backups. The trip is tentatively planned for next year, but the exact date has yet to be revealed, and it could face delays due to ongoing testing of the spacecraft and its rockets.
