Yumiko Hotta (born January 10, 1967) is a Japanese professional wrestler and mixed martial artist.
Hotta was trained and started her career in the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJW) promotion in June 1985.
She appeared on the programme until 2003, becoming the third member of the WWWA World Single and World Tag Team Champions.
Hotta took over the Hyper Visual Battle Arsion campaign in June 2003 and renamed it Major Girl's Battle AtoZ.
The promotion lasted only three years under Hotta's leadership before fading in 2006, when Hotta became a freelancer.

Professional wrestling career
Hotta, a karate veteran with a background in sport, was trained in professional wrestling at the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling (AJW) dojo, specifically in the Kyokushin kaikan style. She appeared in the 1985 AJW rookie class with Hisako Uno, Suzuka Minami, and Mitsuko Nishiwaki. She made her debut in 1985, working with Megumi Nakamae in a tag team match in which they defeated Fumie Kanzaki and Hisako Uno. Hotta attracted widespread notice early on for her unconventional wrestling style. Hotta was named the tag team partner of well-known wrestler Chi Chisa Nagayo during her second year in AJW. Hotta and Nagayo won the 1986 Tag League's Best Tournament on October 10, 1986. She won her first title on April 15, 1987, when she and Hisako Uno defeated Judy Martin and Leilani Kai to win the vacant WWWA World Tag Team Championship. (Kazue Nagahori and Yumi Ogura) They would lose the title to the Red Typhoons just 12 days later (Kazue Nagahori and Yumi Ogura). Hotta formed the Fire Jets tag team with Mitsuko Nishiwaki in the early 1980s, and the two teams went on to become two-time WWWA World Tag Team Champions. Hotta and Takako Inoue won the vacant UWA World Women's Tag Team Championship, which they will retain for the next seven months, on September 5, 1993. Hotta won the annual Japan Grand Prix in mid-1994.
On September 24, 1995, Hotta defeated Toshiyo Yamada for the All Pacific Championship for her first singles title. In mid-1996, she vacated the title to focus on aiming for the AJW's top singles title, the WWWA World Single Championship, as well as a pending vaping tudo match. Hotta was the first woman to win the WWWA World Single Championship after establishing herself in legitimate competition on August 20, 1997. Hotta has won the title two more times over the last two years. AJW began having financial difficulties in the late 1990s, resulting in a mass exodus of talent from the organization; Hotta, on the other hand, remained loyal to the role, becoming a locker room boss of sorts. Hotta did, however, announce that she would not be able to work the dying profession on May 11, 2003.
Hotta joined the Hyper Visual Combat Arsion after leaving the AJW, being joined by fellow AJW staff Mika Nishio and Mima Shimoda, and former AJW trainees Chiemi Kitakami and Sachie Abe. Hotta became the president of Arsion on June 24 and changed the promotion's name to Major Girl's Battle AtoZ. Hotta defeated Momoe Nakanishi on February 15, 2004 to become the second AtoZ World Champion. She held the position until May 4, 2006, when AtoZ went out of business.
Hotta began working as a freelancer on the Japanese independent circuit following AtoZ's folding. On February 2, 2007, she returned to a draw for NEO Japan Ladies Pro Wrestling, defeating Etsuko Mita and Yoshiko Tamura in a tag team main event, and then to determine the top contender to the promotion's Openweight Championship, from which she was ruled out in the second round by Carlos Amano in the second round. Hotta debuted under the ring name "KY Hotta" during Pro Wrestling Sun appearances.
Hotta and Manami Toyota won the inaugural Daily Sports Women's Tag Team Champions on July 21, 2008, beating Chikayo Nagashima and Sonoko Kato in their first round match. Harukura defeated them in the finals of the tournament on August 3 (Kayoko Haruyama and Tsuba Kuragaki). On September 23, Hotta defeated Haruyama in the JWP Openweight Championship for the second time. The match was named JWP Match of the Year at the end of the year. Hotta and Keito defeated Uematsu-Ran (Ran Yu-Yu and Toshie Uematsu) to win the Daily Sports Women's and JWP Tag Team Championships on January 25, 2009. Hotta and Keito lost the title to Command Bolshoi and Megumi Yabushita in their second defense on April 12, after a fruitful title defense against Arisa Nakajima and Toujyuki Leon on February 21, to both Toujyuki Leon and Toujyuki Leon.
Hotta joined Nanae Takahashi's Passion Red stable in 2009, adopting the ring term "Passion Hotty" in the process. In JWP and Passion Red's self-produced independent events, she will mostly represent the stable. Passion Red held its last function on November 27, 2010, the stable's previous owner's epoch.
Hotta began working with the Mexican Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion in early 2011. The promotion held its first official event on May 8, where Hotta and Manami Toyota defeated Hailey Hatred and Zeuxis in a tag team match after several small pre-events. Hotta and Zeuxis defeated Silueta and Tomoka Nakagawa in a tag team main event seven days later. Hotta revealed during the third event on May 28 that she had injured the meniscus in her knee and would have surgery the next month, causing her to withdraw from in-ring action.
Hotta returned to the ring on August 20, 2011 at Reina 10, where she and Mima Shimoda were disqualified in a tag team main event headed by La Comandante and Dama de Hierro after Hotta was pinched by La Comandante. Shimoda, a CMLL regular, took to Hotta and allied herself with the Mexican opponents. Hotta, Aki Kanbayashi, and Saya were defeated by Shimoda, La Comandante, and Dama de Hierro, triggering a match on August 27 at Reina 11, where Hotta, Aki Kanbayashi and Saya were defeated by Shimoda, La Comandante, and Dama de Hierro. Hotta defeated La Comandante and Zeuxis in a tag team match on September 18, with Hotta pinning Zeuxis for the victory. Hotta defeated visiting American Sara Del Rey in a main event singles match seven days later in Reina 16. Team Reina of Sendai Girls' Pro Wrestling's Joshi Puroresu Dantai Taikou Flash tournament, where different joshi teams competed against each other on October 27, where Hotta captained Team Reina. Team Reina (Hotta, Aki Kanbayashi, Aoi Ishibashi, La Comandante, and Zeuxis) was defeated by Team Stardom in their first round match (Mayu Iwatani, Natsuki, Saki Kashima, Yoshiko) (Mayu Iwatani, Tako, Saki Kashima, Yoko Bito, and Yoshiko) (Mayu Iwatani, Mayo Hotta 19 years ago met La Comandante in a main event grudge match, winning by submission. Hotta won the Radio Nippon Cup and became the inaugural Reina World Women's Champion on November 23 at Reina 20, Mexico. Hotta resurgented her rivalry with turncoat Mima Shimoda, who was competing with Aoi Ishibashi and Manami Toyota in a six-woman tag team match on January 15, where they defeated Shimoda, Cassandra, and Kellie Skater with Hotta submitting Shimoda for the victory. Shimoda was back in Reina, Japan, on January 29, partnering with Sahory in a tag team tournament in which they defeated Hotta and her trainee Saya. Hotta and Saya were defeated by Shimoda, who this time worked with Silueta, on February 25 in Reina 27. La Comandante, Japan's first anniversary celebration, returned to Japan on May 13 in a Lucha de Apuestas Hair vs. The main event in hair is the hair. Hotta won the match by submission, causing her adversary to have her head shaved, but Reina announced that Reina was withdrawing immediately. Although the bulk of the former Universal Women's Pro Wrestling Reina roster remained unchanged, Hotta, her trainee Saya, Mima Shimoda, and Shuri Okuda with her trainer Saya broke away from the group, while Hotta announced the Reina X World promotion, Hotta.
Hotta, along with fellow Reina alumni Saya and Shuri Okuda, made a surprise appearance for the World Women Pro-Wrestling Diana campaign on May 22, 2012, breaking a main event battle royal by targeting Kaoru Ito and Sasee. Hotta had officially signed up for the promotion on June 3, Diana. On June 27, Hotta's first match of the storyline with Diana took place, with Diana defeated Keiko Aono in a singles match and then challenged Sareee, the promotion's best trainee. In a tag team match, Hotta and Kuro, the newly renamed Saya, defeated Saiko Aono and Keiko Aono. On August 5, Aono turned on Saono and joined forces with Hotta and Kuro in a no-match. Yuiga brought Hotta, Kuro, and Aono together on June 23, forming the Bousou-gun stable. Bousou-gun earned its fifth member in a six-woman tag team main event on October 28, assisting Hotta, Aono, and Yuiga in defeating the match. Hotta returned to Ice Ribbon in 2012, where she defeated Hamuko Hoshi to a fifteen-minute time limit draw. Hotta and Hoshi defeated Manami Toyota and Mima Shimoda in their first round match on January 10 in a tournament to determine the inaugural Diana Tag Team Champions. Hotta and Hoshi were banned from the tournament in the semifinals by Kaoru Ito and Tomoko Watanabe's team eight days later, when Hotta was disqualified for punching the referee. Hotta and Hoshi finished fourth in the tournament on January 28 after Hotta was disqualified in a third place match against Keiko Aono and Mask de Sun.
Hotta defeated Nakajima and Rabbit Miu in a main event tag team match on March 10, 2013, defeating JWP Openweight Champion Arisa Nakajima and Rabbit Miu with Hotta pinning Nakajima for the victory. On April 14, Hotta unsuccessfully challenged Nakajima for her title, which resulted in a No Holds Barred match. Hotta and Keiko Aono defeated Kaoru Ito and Tomoko Watanabe in a "Anything, Always, Anywhere" match for the WWWD Queens Championship on April 29, when Arisa Nakajima announced herself as Bousou-gun's newest member and aided her new stablemates win the tournament. The WWWD World Tag Team Championship, Hotta's and Aono's new title was officially renamed on May 28, hotta's and Aono's. On June 16, Hotta and Aono made their first competitive appearance against WWWD World Single Champion Kyoko Inoue and Saoe. When they defeated Allysin Kay and Crazy Mary on August 4, they secured their second fruitful defense. Hotta returned to Reina Joshi Puroresu, the former Reina X World boss, after being named the second Reina World Women's Champion and given the title Hotta had never lost since being crowned on September 20, 2012. Hotta returned to her homeland promotion after hitting her at a Wrestling New Classic (WNC) function on September 29. On October 4, Hotta defeated Syuri, La Valiant, and Zeuxis in their first match with Syuri, who was also her Reina return match. Mima Shimoda, the newest member of Bousou-gun, was introduced as the new one during the match, having recently turned on Kyoko Inoue. Hotta hosted her own Diana festival on January 4, 2014, which included a tag team main event, where she and Arisa Nakajima clashed with Kyoko Inoue and La Comandante. After La Comandante had turned on Inoue and joined Bousou-gun, the match came to a disqualification when Hotta struck the referee. On Saturday, Hotta's Bousou-gun and Kyoko Inoue's Seikigun clashed at this third anniversary celebration, where Hotta and Mask de Sun defeated Inoue and Tomoko Watanabe in a steel cage deathmatch. Kaoru was born on her Diana debut, establishing a new stable with Mima Shimoda and Takako Inoue and transforming Bousou-gun and Seikigun's rivalry into a three-way brawl. Hotta and La Comandante defeated Aki Shizuku and Ariya to win the Reina World Tag Team Championship on June 29, a record in the Reina World Tag Team Championship. On July 31, they held their first good title defense against Makoto and Ray. In their second defense on August 20, the team lost the title to Makoto and Ariya. Hotta concluded her year on December 23 by participating in the first women's "No Rope Barbed Wire Current Blast Deathmatch" in 17 years, where she was defeated by Kyoko Inoue.
Hotta defeated Manami Toyota and Mima Shimoda for the vacant WWWD World Tag Team Championship on August 16, 2015. However, Hotta resigned immediately thereafter in favour of joining Jaguar Yokota's new Crysis stable, which also included Jenny Rose and male wrestlers "brother" Yasshi and Taru.
Hotta was announced on July 11, 2016, as the head of Atsushi Onita's new Fire Puroresu promotion's women's wrestling team, which would hold its first show on August 26. Hotta resigned from Diana on July 28, stating that she would return to work as a freelancer going forward. Hotta was appointed as an advisor to Actwres girl'Z on August 7, 2016.
Mixed martial arts career
Hotta started training mixed martial arts in 1994 and qualified for the Ultimate L-1 Tournament, hosted by joshi puroresu promotion Women Legend Pro-Wrestling (LLPW), which was held on July 18, 1995. Hotta was selected in the semifinals by Svetlana Goundarenko after defeating Mizuki Endo by chemical failure in her first round match. Hotta defeated Margot Neyhoft by submission at Vale Tudo Japan 1996, on July 7, 1996. Hotta entered a MMA tournament hosted by AJW on August 13. She was disqualified in the finals after submission victories over Valerie Wiet and Lioness Asuka.
Hotta debuted Amanda Lucas in a match on February 18, 2012, the first MMA match in over eleven years, when she faced her first MMA match in over ten years. In the third round, Hotta forfeited the game after losing by a keylock at 2:16. Hotta will replace an injured Shinobu Kandori and face Gabi Garcia at Rizin Fighting Federation's New Year's Eve show on December 22, 2016. Hotta was defeated in 41 seconds by a technical foulout.
