Yukimi Eleanora Nagano (born 31 January 1982) is a Swedish singer and songwriter.

Nagano was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, to Japanese father Yusuke Nagano and Swedish-American mother Joanne Brown.

She is the vocalist for the Swedish electronic group Little Dragon.

Career

Nagano set a new record with Andreas Saag at the age of 18 (Swell Session). She then collaborated with Swedish nu jazz duo "Summer Sun" and "Bright Nights" (both from 2001's Waltz for Koop) and joined the duo on tour, which she says "opened a lot of doors for me both personally and collaboration wise." For the 2006 release of the Koop Islands, she collaborated with Koop on "Come to Me," "I See a Different You," and "When There Is You." Nagano also contributed to Hird's 2004 album Moving On, including the track "Keep You Kimi" and the title track "Moving On."

Nagano, a singer from Gothenburg-based electronic band Little Dragon, formed by her close high school classmates Erik Bodin (drums) and Fredrik Wallin (bass) in 1996 while high school students were in high school. Hkan Wirenstrand (keyboards) joined the company later in the year. Nagano and her bandmates applied to music school but were refused admission, and instead, made music together while doing side jobs. Little Dragon's first single, "Twice," was released in 2007, and the group was signed to Peacefrog Records, which led to the group's signing. The band unveiled their self-titled debut album on September 3, 2007, to a largely supportive audience. In 2009, Machine Dreams was followed by Machine Dreams.

Little Dragon was included on Gorillaz' album Plastic Beach on the songs "Empire Ants" and "To Binge," both of which Nagano co-wrote, and she appeared in the "Escape to Plastic Beach Tour" the same year.

Ritual Union, Little Dragon's third studio album, was released in July 2011, and the band went on tour in North America, Europe, and Australia. Nabuma Rubberband, the band's fourth studio album, was released in May 2014 in the United Kingdom via Because Music and Loma Vista Recordings. At the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, it was voted Best Dance/Electronic Album. Tours in Europe and North America supported the album.

Nagano and Little Dragon were among electronic music duo ODESZA's 2015 album "Light." Nagano and Little Dragon were also featured on Mac Miller's GO:OD AM album in 2015, on the last track titled "The Festival."

When Little Dragon debuted "Drawn" on the track "Drawn" in 2016, a music video for the song was released in 2017. The fifth studio album by Season High, Little Dragon's fifth studio album, was also released in 2017.

She and Erik Bodin appeared live with fellow Gothenburg artist José González.

Nagano's debut album on SBTRKT in 2011 featured her vocals on the song "Wildfire." She appears on Raphael Saadiq's 2011 album Stone Rollin' on the track "Just Don't."

On DJ Shadow's 2011 album "Either Knows," "Descending," "Higher Res," and "Thom Pettie" from Big Boi's 2012 album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, she performed vocals on "Scale It Back," "Scale It Back." Nagano also co-wrote "Mama Told Me" and performed on the song's original version.
