Early life and career

Ylona Jade Garcia was born in Sydney, Australia, to Filipino parents Peter Garcia and Caridad Navalle-Garcia, both of whom are medical practitioners based in Australia. She is the third child in a row of five siblings. Garcia began performing as a front act for a number of Filipino singers and musicians, including Martin Nievera, Sarah Geronimo, and Rivermaya's former lead vocalist Bamboo Malac during their concert stops in Australia at a young age. Garcia also performed at the Filipino Fiesta in September 2014, where she performed Zedd and Ariana Grande's "Break Free" on YouTube. She has also competed in numerous singing competitions, including the Urban Star Sydney Championship in December 2014, for which she received the "Most Promising Talent" award in December 2014, and the Fast Track Australian Singing Competition in March 2015 as part of the junior division. Garcia also placed third in the National Urban Star Competition's "Coolest Artist" and "Artist" categories, earning the Judge's Choice Award for the 'Wow' Factor' awards.

Garcia auditioned to become a housemate for the first part of ABS-CBN's reality television series Pinoy Big Brother, where she passed after showcasing her skills in singing, acting, and dancing as well as for her "confidence and candid remarks." On the second day with Franco Rodriguez, who was later named second runner-up; Kyle Secades and Zonia Mejia, she entered the house. Garcia wrote and performed two songs, "Win the Fight" (2015), which she produced and performed with her fellow housemate Jimboy Martin; and "Magmahal Muli" (2005, liter. To Love Again (twice) a film by Sam Milby and Say Alonzo from the first season of Pinoy Big Brother (2005), she performed and performed with her fellow housemate Bailey May. The songs were later released on Spotify on August 9, 2015, and they were later released on the extended play PBB 737 (2015). During the Big Night parade at the Albay Astrodome in Legazpi, Albay, which attracted 42.2 percent of the public vote on November 8, 2015, Garcia was named the first runner-up to Martin. On the musical variety television show ASAP, Ylona announced that her debut studio album would be out "very, very soon." Coca-Cola revealed Ylona as one of the ambassadors for their "Taste the Feeling" campaign alongside Bailey May, James Reid, Nadine Lustre, Maine Mendoza, Alden Richards, Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil, Janella Salvador, and Enchong Dee on January 21. Ylona was announced as the "Celebrity VJ" for the month of February for the music television network Myx on January 31, 2016. Star Music signed Ylona on February 4, 2016. Garcia, who died on August 26, was announced that she would be returning to the Head in the Clouds album with the single "Don't Go Changing." Garcia, a 20-minute spotlight on the Head in the Clouds Music Festival 2021 stage, lit up the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, on November 7.

Garcia released her latest single "Entertain Me" in January 2022, which was released in conjunction with the tactical gungun video game VALORANT. In the game's trailer for Neon, the tune was used. Ylona announced on the 25th that she has since moved to Los Angeles, California, and will continue to work in the United States for good to continue her music career.

Ylona is the first Filipino to be included on the pages of American fashion magazine V for its Fall 2022 edition, which is published on August 2022. V on Instagram, V described Ylona as "the new global voice leading R&B Pop."
