Yiannis Kouros Life

Yiannis Kouros (born February 13, 1956 in Tripoli, Greece) is a Greek ultramarathon runner based in Greece.

He is sometimes referred to as "Running God" or "Pheidippides' Successor."

He holds several men's outdoor race world records from 100 to 1,000 miles per day, as well as other road and track time from 12 hours to 6 days.

In 1991, he appeared in the film Pheidippides: A Hero's Journey, which chronicles marathon running's past. When Kouros won the Spartathlon in 1984 in a new record time, he came to fame.

"When other people get sick, they stop," Cliff Young says of his feat.

I don't.

My mind takes over my body.

I tell it that it isn't exhausted and it listens. In addition, Kouros has written over 1,000 poems, some of which appear in his books Symblegmata (Clusters) and The Six-Day Run of the Century.
