Yasmien Kurdi-Soldevilla (née Yuson, born January 25, 1989 in San Juan, Philippines) is a Filipina singer-songwriter, actress, and commercial model.

She appeared in the first season of StarStruck, a reality-based talent search show hosted by GMA Network in the Philippines, where she finished as the first runner-up.

Pop Sweetheart of the Philippines was honoured with the title of Philippines Pop Sweetheart.

Magna Cum Laude from Arellano University graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She is best known for the role of Mira in the hit fantasy series Encantadia, Salve Dizon de Leon's remake of Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita and Shayne Rodrigo's hit animation Saan Darating Ang Umaga?, a role originally portrayed by Maricel Soriano.

In the hit afternoon drama series Yagit and Ysabel, she was also known in Rhodora X as Angela, Dolores. In the hit ni Nanay, she remained for many hours due to high ratings. Kurdi's first two studio albums came as a singer.

In 2005, her first album, In the Name of Love, was released and achieved platinum status, while her second album, Love Is All I Need, reached gold status.

Early life

Kurdi was born to two Muslim fathers, Mohammad Kurdi, and Miriam Ong-Yuson, a member of the Iglesia ni Cristo. She is of Lebanese and Chinese Filipino (maternal) descent. She spent the bulk of her childhood in Kuwait as a result of her father's service there, and she and her family were present during the Gulf War. Before joining StarStruck, she was a member of the junior choir in her church. She studied elementary education in Jabriya Indian School, high school in Angelicum College, and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in political science at Arellano University.

Personal life

Kurdi revealed to Philippine Entertainment Portal that she is already married to Rey Soldevilla, a pilot. Ayesha Zara, whose name Ayesha means "she who lives" or "fully" in the Arabic language, was born on November 22, 2012, and "beautiful, brilliant, shining, or beauty" in the Arabic language.

Kurdi was diagnosed with a cyst on her vocal folds in early 2014, which explained her voice's recent hoarseness. In July 2014, she was scheduled for surgery to remove the cyst. There was no promise that her voice would fully recover after the operation, according to her doctor.
