Xavier Ong (born 20 April 1994) is a Singaporean actor.
Early life
Ong was born in Singapore on the 20th of April 1994. Wang Yuqing's step son is the Singapore actor. He attended Outram Secondary School but did not graduate as a result of the highly public incident in 2010 when he was taking the national 'O' Level exams.
Career
Ong's career began shortly after he was hired for guest appearances on several local television shows. After a single episode on Crimewatch, he made cameo appearances on several other document-drama series. Ong came to fame as "Alex" in the local television drama "Don't Stop Believin' (TV series), after which he continued to make more appearances in local television shows and further branched out into film and television before being enlisted into the Singapore Armed Forces in late 2012.
Ong was recruited into the army but he was not allowed to appear in television or film for the remainder of his service after having modest success with his early work. Ong, a social media market specialist, signed ong to work with influencer marketing firm Gushcloud International in late 2012. Ong was involved in many online debates involving Xiaxue and other Gushcloud influencers. After being bombarded with backlash following the incident, Ong stepped out to apologise for his mistake. Ong is said to have ended his Gushcloud job in 2015.
Ong retired from Gushcloud and ventured into Taiwan's entertainment industry, where he made regular appearances on variety shows but then returned to Singapore in late 2015. Ong completed several other television dramas in Singapore, the last being C.L.I.F. He has since returned to Taiwan to continue his education.
Ong made his silver screen return in the Chinese New Year film The Fortune Handbook, which also stars Christopher Lee, Li Nan Xing, Mark Lee, and Vivian Lai. Ong appeared in "Alfred" in 2017, his first appearance as a Leading Male in the StarHub telemove Uplift, which premiered on Starhub ECity in August 2017.
