Wu Jing and Xie Nan's relationship began in 2012 and they got married in 2014. Wu Suowei (), Wu Jing's wife, gave birth to a boy Wu Suowei () on August 25, 2014 (also known as Wu You (). Wu Lü (), their second son, was born on September 24, 2018.
Acting career
Wu was first recognized by martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo-ping, Wu in 1996 film Tai Chi Boxer, his first Hong Kong film debut. Wu has appeared in a number of mainland Chinese wuxia television series since then. In the 2003 film Drunken Monkey, he has also worked with choreographer and director Lau Kar-leung. In 2005 film SPL: Sha Po Lang, Wu gained fame in Hong Kong as a brutal assassin.
Wu was extending his leap into Hong Kong cinema by appearing in the film Fatal Contact in 2006. In the 2007 film Twins Mission, Wu is the male lead, starring the Twins duo. In addition, he appeared on the police action film Invisible Target, which was released in July 2007.
Wu made his directorial debut in March 2008, as well as action choreographer Nicky Li on his film Legendary Assassin. In The Mummy: The Mummy Emperor's American film debut, Wu played the Assassin.
In 2011, Wu appeared in the film Shaolin starring Nicholas Tse, Andy Lau, and Jackie Chan. In the 2015 Hong Kong action film SPL II: A Time for Consequences, Wu reprised a different role as Chan Chi-kit.
Wu produced and starred in Wolf Warrior's 2017 sequel Wolf Warrior 2. The latter film has been a hit at the Chinese summer box office and has been China's highest grossing film.
Wu appeared in The Wandering Earth, based on a Liu Cixin novella. When he learned that the production team had no funds to finish the film, he invested his own money to make up for the shortfall. The film earned $700 million worldwide, with $691 million in China. It was China's third highest-grossing film of all time, 2019, the second highest-grossing non-English film to date and one of the top 20 highest-grossing science fiction films to date.
