Willie Aames Life

Willie Aames (born Albert William Upton on July 15, 1960) is an American actor, film and television director, television producer, and screenwriter.

Tommy Bradford, one of Tom Bradford's children (played by Dick Van Patten), appeared on the 1970s television series Eight Is Enough, Buddy Lembeck on the 1980s sitcom Charles in Charge and the title character in the direct-to-video series Bibleman (1995–2003).

Early life

In 1960, Aames was born in Newport Beach, California. He attended Edison High School in Huntington Beach, California, and was a member of both the choir and the Madrigal Ensemble.

Personal life

Aames has been married three times. Vicki Weatherman was born in 1979 and had just one child, Christopher. Maylo McCaslin married Harleigh Jean in 1986, having one child. Winnie Hung was married to Aames in 2014.

Aames has suffered with alcoholism in his life.

Career

Aames began acting in the late 1960s as a youth, appearing on shows including Gunsmoke, The Wonderful World of Disney, Adam-12, and The Courtship of Eddie's Father. Leonard Unger, the son of Felix Unger (Tony Randall), appeared on ABC's The Odd Couple in 1971, a part played later by Leif Garrett. Jamie Boyle played him in the animated film Wait Till Your Father Gets Home for the next year.

He appeared on various television shows, including The Waltons. In 1974, he portrayed Benjamin Franklin, a 12-year-old Benjamin Franklin, in the miniseries Benjamin Franklin. He appeared in the series Swiss Family Robinson for the next year.

Tommy Bradford appeared in the comedy-drama Eight Is Enough in 1977. He appeared in Willie Aames & Paradise, a group in which he was lead singer/guitarist during this period. The company was founded when Aames was in junior high school and eventually signed a CBS Custom Label contract. Aames appeared in Scavenger Hunt, his first film role. Aames appeared in more film roles, including Zapped, after the series ended in 1981. Phoebe Cates relates to Scott Baio and Paradise.

Aames played Robbie Hamlin in Charles in Charge in 1984, before portraying him as Buddy Lembeck in the ABC soap opera The Edge of Night. He appeared on Hank's cartoon Dungeons & Dragons from 1983 to 1985. Aames hosted the game show The Krypton Factor after Charles was out of office in 1990.

Aames appeared in the direct-to-video Christian superhero series from 1995 to 2003 before moving to spend more time with his family. Robert T. Schlipp had his replacement.

As he began working as a Cruise Director for Regent Seven Seas Cruises in 2010, Aames' career changed direction. He went back to acting in 2016 after working on Oceania Cruises and Viking (Ocean) Cruises.
