William Allen White (February 10, 1868 – January 29, 1944) was an American newspaper editor, politician, and a tyconian explorer who led the resistance movement.
White became a spokesman for middle America between 1896 and his death.
Early life
Allen and Mary Ann Hatten White, his parents, were born in Emporia, Kansas, where the majority of his childhood was spent. He loved animals and reading books. He attended Emporia and the University of Kansas, and began writing in 1889 as an editorial writer for The Kansas City Star.
