William Friedle (born August 11, 1976) is an American actor, voice actor, writer, and comedian.

He is best known for his comedic roles, especially under-achieving elder brother Eric Matthews on the long-running TV sitcom Boy Meets World from 1993 to 2000.

Terry McGinnis/Batman, the main character of Batman Beyond, and Ron Stoppable of Kim Possible are among the animated characters he has voiced.

In the animated version of Guardians of the Galaxy, he portrays Deadpool in Ultimate Spider-Man and Star-Lord, replacing Chris Cox.

In addition to Doyle's appearance in The Secret Saturdays, Lion-O in the rebooted ThunderCats series, and The Brave and the Bold, Blue Beetle on Batman.

In the final episode of Transformers: Prime Minister and the film Transformers: In the final episode of Transformers: Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising and in the stand-alone sequel series Transformers: Robots in Disguise, as well as in Transformers: Rescue Bots, he has been the speaking voice of Bumblebee.

Early life

Friedle was born in Hartford, Connecticut, the youngest of three children of Patricia Joan (née Leary) and Gary Allen Friedle, both lawyers. Gary and Greg Friedle, Gary and Greg Friedle's older brothers. Friedle, who pledged himself to becoming an actor, travelled from Avon, Connecticut, to New York City for auditions. In 1994, he graduated from Avon High School.

Friedle is reportedly credited on school brochures as having attended Occidental College. However, when interviewed on the episode of Between The Sheets on February 11, 2019, he confessed to never having attended the school. As his nephew attended the school and showed him the information box, he said he learned he was being incorrectly credited by Occidental College as an alumnus. Occidental College is unable to confirm that Friedle was ever used on marketing brochures; however, co-star Rider Strong attended Occidental College briefly during Boy Meets World's filming. In addition, he said he studied Latin for six years because he wanted to become an archaeologist one day. Friedle wrote about attending culinary school in the People issue on July 4, 2006.

Personal life

Jennifer Love Hewitt dated actress Jennifer Love Hewitt in 1997 and co-starred with her in the romantic teen comedy Trojan War. On Boy Meets World's episode "And Then There Was Shawn," Hewitt appeared as Jennifer Love "Feffy" Fefferman.

Friedle is best friends with actor Jason Marsden, and he was the best man at Marsden's wedding in October 2004. Both actors have appeared in several films together: Boy Meets World (until Marsden's departure from the series in season 3 and his character Jason Marsden was eventually replaced by Matthew Lawrence's character Jack Hunter in season 5), The Brave and the Bold, Thundercats, and Mad.

Susan Martens, He married his mother, Susan Martens, on September 25, 2016, in Connecticut. Mrs. Squirrels, her affectionate name for her, refers to his nickname "Plays With Squirrels" that she acquired as Eric he was acquired in the final season of Boy Meets World.

Friedle appeared on the long-running TV sitcom Don't Just Sit There for three seasons (1988–1991) as Cory Matthews' likeable but underachieving elder brother Eric on Cory Matthews' long-running TV sitcom Boy Meets World from 1993 to 2000. In 1998, he co-starred with Elizabeth Harnois, Dabney Coleman, & Jay Thomas in My Date with the President's Daughter as part of The Wonderful World of Disney.

He co-starred with Chris Owen in the independent film Gold Diggers, which was also titled Lady Killers). He appeared in a supporting role in the ABC Family film Everything You Want in 2005. Friedle was cast as Mike in the WB's Off Centre but he was unable to accept the role due to a previous commitment to the UPN's series The Random Years. Eddie Kaye Thomas took the role.

In the English version of the video game Kingdom Hearts II, Gideon Wyeth, and Jaster Rogue in the English version of the video game Rogue Galaxy, Friedle performed Seifer Almasy.

Friedle will reprise his Boy Meets World role as Eric Matthews on the continuation series Girl Meets World in December 2013.

Friedle reprised his Batman Beyond role of Terry McGinnis on Darwyn Cooke's Batman Beyond short film in April 2014 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Batman.

Christy's Kitchen Throwback starring Friedle premiered on June 27, 2019 on Christy Carlson Romano's YouTube Channel.

In a promotional short for the comic's fifteenth issue, Friedle introduced Radiant Black on June 15, 2022. The short film can be seen on the official Black Market Narative YouTube channel.

Friedle and Romano co-host a podcast called I Hear Voices, which is available on Romano's YouTube channel and other podcast hosts beginning March 4, 2022. On June 7, 2022, the 20th anniversary of Kim Possible, the podcast had a special episode with creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley and voice actor John DiMaggio (Drakken) and Nicole Sullivan (Shego), as well as a new Kim Possible scene starring the four actors written by McCorkle and Schooley and directed by original voice director Lisa Schaffer.
