Personal life

Bridge was in a relationship with French model Vanessa Perroncel from 2005 to 2009. They had a son together, Jaydon Jean Claude Bridge, who was born on November 21, 2006. On the next day, Bridge will begin a new four-year contract with Chelsea.

A superinjunction was issued by a High Court judge in January 2010, stopping the media from informing that Bridge's former colleague John Terry had a long affair with Perroncel soon after she departed from Bridge. A week later, the injunction was lifted. Perroncel pleaded guilty of negligence for their son's care until Jaydon's 18th birthday on March 25, 1998. On October 3, 2010, the News of the World published an apology for Perroncel's invasion of her private life while still claiming she and Terry denounced the allegations against herself and Terry.

Frankie Sandford, a Saturdays musician, announced on Twitter that she was engaged to Bridge on April 8. Parker Bridge, their son's birth date, was on October 18, 2013. In a private ceremony on July 19, the two wednesdens married on 19 July 2014 in a private ceremony. Sandford revealed in January 2015 that they were expecting their second child. Wayne Bridge Career

Club career

Bridge was born in Southampton but died in Winchester at the age of 21, but Olivers Battery was introduced to Olivers Battery. Oliver's Battery Primary and Kings' School, Winchester, was a success. He was discovered by Micky Adams, who recommended him to Southampton and who signed him as a trainee in July 1996, while playing for Olivers Battery. He made his reserve team debut against Portsmouth on August 13, 1997, and turned professional in January 1998.

Bridge made his first-team debut on August 16, 1998 (the first day of the 1998–99 season) as a replacement for John Beresford, who had suffered a serious knee injury. Bridge defeated Charlton Athletic 5–0 in their first senior match in August. In most of Southampton's league games until early December, Bridge played (on the left wing) on both sides until losing his job to Hassan Kachloul as Southampton continued to lose points (with only two points after the first nine games). Bridge was only used occasionally during the remainder of the 1998–99 Premier League season, as the Saints barely escaped relegation. He played for 15 starts and eight substitute appearances in his first season as a first-team player.

Bridge continued to play on the left wing until injuries to Francis Benali and his intended replacement Patrick Colleter gave the Bridge the opportunity to play left-back, where he soon became a fixture in the Saints' starting lineup. In the 2000–2000 season, he made 15 starts (more than four replacement appearances) scoring his first senior goal, with a spectacular free-kick over the wall, in Wimbledon's final match of the season on May 14, 2000, as a result of Wimbledon's promotion to Division 1 after 14 years in the top flight.

Bridge was an ever-present at left-back in the 2000–01 season as the Saints finished their final season at The Dell in tenth place in the Premier League table. Bridge was voted Southampton Player of the Year for the 2000-2001 season.

"His forward runs at The Dell and then at St Mary's became a thrilling sight," bridge was "fast, tenacious, skilful, and full of youthful promise." He was an ever-presenter in the upcoming season, as the Saints comfortably ended their first season at their new stadium in mid-table.

Bridge's stamina and consistency, as well as a high level of fitness, enabled him to play every match until January 18, 2003, when he came off with a 1–0 loss to Liverpool. A string of 113 consecutive appearances came to an end, one of the Premier League's most outfield players (since Frank Lampard, Jr.) came to an end. Bridge's career began on March 4, 2000, and he did not miss any play due to injury or suspension, and he began playing in Premier League football for the first time.

Bridge was already trailing Chelsea, and the 2003 season was overshadowed. In the 2003 FA Cup Final loss to Arsenal, he made his last appearance for the club. He made 173 appearances as a Saints first-team player, including two against Wimbledon and Bolton Wanderers.

Bridge went to Chelsea in July 2003 for a £7 million plus Graeme Le Saux, and was first a regular starter after five years with the Saints. He had his best moment against Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2003. Chelsea reached the semi-finals against Arsenal after scoring in the 88th minute, bringing an 18-game winless streak to a halt. The goal was later named as the season's best goal. In the 2003-2004 season, Bridge also scored against Beşiktaş and Portsmouth.

Bridge began playing regularly under new manager José Mourinho in 2004, but he sustained a serious ankle injury in an FA Cup match against Newcastle United on February 20, 2005. This ended his season, but it also meant he missed the League Cup Final the following weekend. Chelsea won the Premier League in his absence, but Bridge had already made enough appearances (15) to warrant a winners' medal, but Chelsea had to win the Premier League in his absence.

Chelsea's left-back Asier del Horno and Bridge, who sustained from the injury that had held him out of the team in the latter stages of the 2004–05 season, faces a challenge as he returned to the team. He made only two appearances for Chelsea this season, both in domestic cup games. Fulham loaned him on January 19, 2006, with limited first team chances. In a 2–1 loss to West Ham United at Upton Park, he made his debut. As he managed to secure his place in the 2006 World Cup English squad for the tournament in Germany, it seemed that his move was to his advantage. Chelsea won the Premier League again, but Bridge was not eligible for a medal this season because he had not made a single league appearance for them all season.

Ashley Cole, a fellow England international left back, was the Chelsea left back in the main competition for the Chelsea left back position. Bridge played the entire game in Chelsea's 3–0 victory over Manchester City on the first day of the 2006–07 Premier League season, with Didier Drogba scoring a header. Despite his solid start to the season, Mourinho's nimble hand in most games was not enough to hold the left-back position. Following Cole's injury in the 3–0 Premier League victory over Blackburn Rovers early in 2007, Chelsea became Chelsea's first choice for left-back.

In the 2007 semi-final 1st leg League Cup match against Chelsea's injuries, Bridge featured in an assault against Chelsea's Wycombe Wanderers, scoring one goal in the process.

Bridge ended the 2006-07 season with two cup finalist's medals after playing in both the League Cup Final against Arsenal and in the FA Cup Final against Manchester United, a 1–0 victory.

Bridge lost in the 2008 League Cup Final against Tottenham Hotspur in his third cup final for Chelsea in less than two years. Bridge was found to have handled the ball in the penalty area, and Tottenham were given a penalty, which they scored, as a result of extra time, the team went on to win 2–1.

Bridge wore the captain's armband in the absence of John Terry and Frank Lampard, but the Blues lost on penalties in the fourth round match against Burnley in the 2008–09 season.

Manchester City had agreed an undisclosed fee with Chelsea for Bridge, estimated to be around £10 million, and the player's transfer was complete and he agreed to a four-and-a-kind contract on January 2, 2009, according to Mark Hughes. Bridge was unveiled to the home fans on a FA Cup home tie against Nottingham Forest, and two weeks later, the club defeated Wigan Athletic in the league by 1–0. He was given the number 25 in the squad. Bridge changed to the number 3 for the 2009–10 season, which was previously worn by Michael Ball.

Chelsea beat Chelsea in their first home Premier League defeat of the season on February 27, 2010, who beat them 4–2. Bridge was involved in a highly publicized incident in which he refused to shake hands with Chelsea captain and international teammate John Terry, who was at the time debating allegations that he had something to do with Bridge's ex-girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel. With the arrival of two new left-backs, his left-back for Manchester City gradually faded. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini signed Aleksandar Kolarov from Lazio in the summer of 2010 and Gaty from Arsenal in 2011, indicating that Bridge was oversaturation at City.

Bridge signed West Ham United on loan until the end of the season on January 12, 2011. In a 3–0 loss to Arsenal on January 15, he made his West Ham debut on January 15, 2011. Bridge made 18 appearances in all West Ham competitions before his loan was finished.

Bridge had joined Sunderland on a loan agreement until the 2011–12 season, according to the company on January 31, 2012. In Sunderland's 3–0 victory over Norwich City the following day, he appeared in his first minute as an 82nd minute replacement for Kieran Richardson. He made his first appearance for Sunderland in their 1–0 victory over Liverpool on March 10, 2012, and later in the FA Cup quarter-final draw with Everton the following week.

Bridge would join Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan, which was confirmed on July 6, 2012. In a 3–0 away loss to Swindon Town in the League Cup on August 14, he made his Brighton debut. In a 5–1 home win over Barnsley on August 25, his first league goal since scoring for Chelsea in December 2003. He scored for Brighton for the first time in his first Brighton goal since being a kid. Bridge played 37 games for Brighton, scoring three goals and assisting them in qualifying for the play-offs. He appeared in both semi-final games against Crystal Palace, where Brighton lost 2–0 on aggregate. At the end of the season, Bridge congratulated Brighton manager Gus Poyet for resurrecting his footballing career. "Brighton have been fantastic to me," he told The Independent, "Brighton have been amazing to me." I just wanted to say a big thank you to the chairman and the supporters. Since being in the wilderness at Manchester City, Gus reignited my passion for football.

Bridge signed a one-year deal with Reading in June 2013, when the Football League Championship had just been relegated to Reading. Bridge chose Reading ahead of Queens Park Rangers and Brighton's who wanted to make his loan term permanent.

Bridge was released by Reading after 12 games in his first season with the club, with subsequent withdrawal from professional football.

International career

All Bridge's managers (Jones, Hoddle, and Gray) predicted full international recognition during his time with Southampton. He was soon making regular appearances for the England under 21 team, and the managers' prophecy was realized when Sven-Göran Eriksson gave him his first full cap against the Netherlands on February 13. He soon proved himself and appeared twice as a substitute in the 2002 World Cup, but he didn't appear in Euro 2004, with Ashley Cole preferred.

During qualifying for the 2006 World Cup, Bridge occupied England's insecure left midfield position but lost it to Chelsea teammate Joe Cole when he sustained an injury. In November 2005, he returned to England for a friendly against Argentina, covering for the injured Cole on left back and winning his 21st cap.

Bridge played in the Euro 2008 qualifier match against Estonia, which England defeated Estonia 3–0, with Bridge assisting Joe Cole's goal by a long throw into the box.

Bridge's last appearance for England came against Brazil on November 14, 2009. Following allegations surrounding England captain John Terry and Bridge's estranged mother Vanessa Perroncel, Bridge sank him permanently from international service on February 25th.
