Vivica Anjanetta Fox (born July 30, 1964) is an American actress, producer, and television presenter.

Fox began her career with appearances on Days of Our Lives (1988) and Generations (1989–91), later moving to the prime-time slot starring Patti LaBelle in the NBC sitcom Out All Night (1992-93).

Fox's breakthrough came in 1996, with appearances in two box-office hit films, Roland Emmerich's Independence Day, and F. Gary Gray's Set It Off. Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1997), Why Do Fools Die in Love (1996)), Two Can Play That Game (2001), and Boat Trip (2002).

Vernita Green appeared in Kill Bill and appeared in films such as Ella Enchanted (2004).

Fox had a leading role in the short-lived Fox sitcom Getting Personal (1998) and CBS medical drama City of Angels (2000).

She appeared and produced the Lifetime crime drama Missing, for which she received the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series from 2003 to 2006.

Early life

Fox was born in South Bend, Indiana, the niece of Everlyena, a pharmaceutical scientist, and William Fox, a school administrator. Soon after her birth, her parents moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan. Fox was a 1982 graduate of Arlington High School in Indianapolis and then graduated from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California, with an AA degree in Social Sciences.

Personal life

In December 1998, Fox married singer Christopher "Sixx-Nine" Harvest. In 2002, the couple divorced. In 2003, Fox dated rapper 50 Cents for a brief period of time. Fox and club promoter Omar "Slimm" White began breaking off their 10-month contracts in November 2011. Fox expressed regret that she did not have children.

Fox pulled out of co-hosting a "Live From the Red Carpet" virtual pre-show for the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards on September 20, 2020, because she had tested positive for COVID-19. This test result, she said later, was a false positive.

Fox is a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority, and she was appointed as an honorary member in November 2020.

Fox went to California in 1982 to attend Golden West College. She appeared on Soul Train from 1983 to 1984, and then appeared in the music video for R&B company Klymaxx's hit single, "Meeting in the Ladies Room." She began acting professionally after appearing on the NBC daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1988, first starring Carmen Silva. Emily Franklin appeared in the first episode of ABC comedy series Living Dolls, a spin-off of the sitcom Who's the Boss? she made her debut as a sex worker in Oliver Stone's war drama film Born on the Fourth of July (1989). Halle Berry was brought on to assist with the remaining episodes, but not with Halle Berry. Maya Reubens, the leading character in the NBC daytime soap opera Generations, was cast later this year. Fox debuted on prime time television in the early 1990s, playing guest-starring roles on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Beverly Hills, 90210, Family Matters, Matlock, and Martin. Charisse Chamberlain, Patti LaBelle's fashion designer daughter, was cast in 1992 on the NBC sitcom Out All Night.
