Tyrone William Griffin Jr. (born April 13, 1985), also known as Ty Dolla $ign or Ty$, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer.

He first gained international prominence in 2010 for his guest appearance on YG's "Toot It and Boot It," which he co-written and produced for Def Jam Recordings.

In the summer of 2013, he signed a record deal with Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records.

Free TC, his debut studio album that debuted at number 14 on the Billboard 200, debuted in November 2015. Tyrone William Griffin Jr. was born in Los Angeles, California, on April 13, 1982. Tyrone Griffin, a member of the band Lakeside, is the son of musician Tyrone Griffin. He has stated that as a child, he encountered singers like Earth, Wind & Fire, and Prince, which led to his love and admiration for soul music. Ty Dolla Sign, who was living in South Central Los Angeles, was heavily involved in gangs.

Ty Dolla Sign began his music career by learning how to play the bass guitar and then learned how to play drums, guitars, keyboards, and the MPC. Ty Dolla Sign and his partner Kory were signed to a record contract with Venus Brown and Buddah Brown Entertainment, which culminated in the release of a mixtape titled Raw & Bangin Vol 2. In addition, the pair performed on other artists' albums, including Sa-Ra Creative Partners and Black Milk. They also performed on songs such as "U" which was also included on the latter 2007's album Popular Demand. However, the partners did have a rough time with these ventures as a result.

Ty Dolla Sign will continue to collaborate with Los Angeles-based rapper YG after the drama. Ty Dolla Sign's first act of fame came with the success of YG's single "Toot It and Boot It," a song he wrote and produced with YG. Pu$haz Ink, a youth group in the United Kingdom, became a member of Pu$haz Ink. Ty Dolla Sign's first solo album, titled "All Star" starring Joe Moses, was released in 2011 by Fuego. "House On The Hill" Ty Dolla Signs was also released on his first mixtape. Ty Dolla Signings signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 2012. On October 1, 2012, he unveiled Beach House, his first solo mixtape since signing with Atlantic Records. On July 1, 2013, he continued with the mixtape's sequel, Beach House 2. Too Short, Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J, and Kirko Bangz are among others' appearances on Beach House 2 among others. Ty Dolla Sign signed a contract with Wiz Khalifa's Taylor Gang Records the following day. Ty Dolla Sign released "Paranoid," a single titled "Paranoid" that features a verse from Atlanta rapper B.O.B. and DJ Mustard's production. The song was later revealed to be the first single from his forthcoming extended play (EP). The Ethan Lader-directed music video for "Paranoid" premiered on Diddy's Revolt on October 22, 2013. The single debuted on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number 29 and then being named platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Ty Dolla Sign's second single, titled "Or Nah," starring Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard, was released on January 7, 2014. DJ Mustard handled the album's production, and it includes a sample of Trillville's "Some Cut." The music video was shot in January 2014. Ty Dolla Signs' debut project, Beach House EP, was released on January 21, 2014. The EP includes interviews from Casey Veggies, Wiz Khalifa, Twista, Jay Rock, Trey Songz, French Montana, Travis Scott, and Fredo Santana, among other things, though Ty Dolla Sign himself was mainly responsible, as well as DJ Mustard, Cardo, and Young Chop.
