Tyler Alvarez Career

Alvarez's first professional acting job was in a Totino's pizza rolls commercial. In 2014, he began starring as Diego Rueda, a human with magical powers, in Nickelodeon's teen sitcom Every Witch Way. The following year, Alvarez began portraying Benny Mendoza, the eldest son of Litchfield inmate Gloria Mendoza, in Netflix's comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black.

In 2017, he began playing the lead role of Peter Maldonado in Netflix's true crime mockumentary series American Vandal. He returned for the second season which aired in 2018. The series has since been cancelled by Netflix.

Tyler Alvarez also appeared in the YouTube satirical miniseries ¡Me Llamo Alma!, starring as Miguel.

In 2020, Alvarez made his off-Broadway debut with the Roundabout Theatre Company's play 72 Miles to Go. The production closed prematurely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alvarez joined the cast of Netflix show Never Have I Ever as a recurring character in season 2.

After just one season due to poor ratings, Netflix cancelled comedy show Blockbuster

Following a weak first viewing hour show, Netflix will not renew its comedy series Blockbuster for a second season. According to Deadline, Netflix assigns a score to its shows based on the number of hours watched, and executives were less captivated when the show was introduced on November 3. Given that it is a comedy, it is not surprising that the episodes are about half the length of a normal drama series.

Randall Park, like Timmy, is hoping to preserve "Blockbuster" as a living thing. A few things were left hanging, including Timmy's relationship with his coworker and longtime crush Eliza (Melissa Fumero). The pair spend a lot of the season staring longingly at each other while firmly refusing to reveal their true feelings. Park tells POPSUGAR, "I'm rooting for Timmy and Eliza." "I'm really invested in them," he says. "My hysterium is that if we get another season or two." The characters, from Timmy and Eliza to Olga Merediz's solitary Connie and Tyler Alvarez's aspiring filmmaker Carlos, are the heart and soul of "Blockbuster." They provide each other family and camaraderie throughout the season, with shifts and declines. "All of the characters, to me, are lovable." .. fun and joking, but each of them has a certain level of stuff that makes them both interesting and amusing to play," Park says. "They have a lot of heart behind what they're going through."
