Ty Olsson Life

Ty Olsson (born January 28, 1974) is a Canadian actor and voice actor.

He is best known for his role as Ord's voice and for portraying real life 9/11 victim Mark Bingham in PBS Kids animated children's series Dragon Tales as Benny Lafitte and a regular role in Supernatural.

Early life

Olsson was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario. He attended Canterbury High School, an arts school in Ottawa, where he concentrated on drama, dance, and music. He continued to study acting at Studio 58.

Personal life

Olsson was married to Leanna Nash until their divorce in 2012. Daygan and MacKenzie are two of their two children. Olsson married Katherine Lohmeyer, a NICU nurse in Las Vegas, Nevada, on September 7th, 2019. After a domestic conflict that took place on August 7, 2021, he filed for divorce on September 9, 2021.

Career

Olsson has primarily appeared in supporting or character roles in a number of films and television shows. In the YTV animated film Being Ian, he is best known as the voice of Herry in the hit Canadian television series Class of the Titans and Ian's older brother Kyle. He has appeared in Battlestar Galactica alongside Shannen Doherty in 2007, and Rollie Crane in Defying Gravity. In the A&E television film Flight 93, Olsson appeared as 9/11 victim Mark Bingham. Ty played Deputy Andy on Eureka but was later replaced by Kavan Smith after two appearances. On Season 8 of Supernatural, Benny, a vampire, is one of Olsson's most memorable performances.
