Early life

Jacques Bermon Webster II was born in Houston, Texas, on April 30, 1991. Webster lived with his grandmother in South Park, Houston, from the age of one to six. The neighborhood in south-central Houston was notorious for crime, and had an effect on a young Webster. "Growing up, my grandmother stayed in the hood, so I saw random shit. I saw people looking strange, starving, and grimey [sic] when I saw a mad bums and batty spazzed out motherfuckers. I was always like, 'I gotta get the fuck out of this shit.' It gave me my advantage—it made me] who I am right now]—but it made me who I am not right now." Webster and his family immigrated to Missouri City, a middle-class suburban suburb bordering southwest Houston, to live with his parents. His mother worked for Apple, and his father owned his own company. Webster's father is also a soul singer, and his grandfather, a jazz composer, was a jazz pianist. Travis Scott Career

Career

With his longtime colleague Chris Holloway, The Graduates, Webster formed a pair. The pair unveiled their first EP on social networking website Myspace in 2008.

Scott and OG Chess, one of Scott's classmates, formed the group The Classmates the following year. Buddy Rich and I in 2009, and Cruis'n USA in 2010. On both projects, Scott mainly did production work. The pair survived until late 2012, when personal conflicts and financial challenges culminated in the dissolution of the company.

Scott moved from Houston to Washington Heights, New York City, where Scott met with friend Mike Waxx, who owned the music website Illroots, shortly after graduating from college. Scott spent the majority of his time at Just Blaze's studio after moving to New York. After being ill in New York and the lack of progress, Scott moved to Los Angeles, California, after only four months in the state.

Webster was homeless in Los Angeles by his brother, who had promised to assist him by providing housing to him. His parents were unable to pay him financially, and he was eventually forced to move back to Houston, where his parents kicked him out of their house. Webster returned to Los Angeles once more and fell asleep on the couch of a friend who studied at the University of Southern California. Grand Hustle Records, T.I., is a T.I.-based rapper and owner of Grand Hustle Records, Inc. "Looks (Love Sick)" will be one of Webster's productions later this week. When in Los Angeles, T.I., I was in Los Angeles, T.I. The representative of the corporation contacted Webster, asking him to attend a meeting in a studio. T.I. reacted angrily during the meeting. One of Webster's creations, "Animal," was freestyled.

Scott's first solo full-length project is a mixtape Titled Owl Pharaoh, which was supposed to be released as a free download in 2012. Nevertheless, the initiative was postponed, and it was scheduled for a later launch. Kanye West and Mike Dean re-created the project, but it was then postponed for sample clearance issues. "Blocka La Flame," Scott's remix of fellow GOOD Music labelmate Pusha T's "Blocka" (which also features production and vocals from Scott), will be released in promotion. Young Chop produced the song, with additional production by Scott himself alongside Mike Dean. Scott performed "Quintana," which is expected to be on Owl Pharaoh's music video on March 22, 2013. The remixed version of the song includes guest vocals from fellow American rapper Wale, as well as Kevin Smith and Mike Dean, while production was handled by Scott himself, alongside Sak Pase and Mike Dean. Scott was a member of the 2013 Freshman Class, according to XXL on March 27. Scott premiered a preview of his commercial debut single, "Upper Echelon," starring 2 Chainz and T.I., following his interview with British disc jockey DJ Semtex. Owl Pharaoh was Scott's official debut mixtape on April 2, 2013 and will be available on the iTunes Store on May 21, 2013. "Upper Echelon" was sent to urban contemporary radio on April 23, 2013. The EP was released as a free download.

Scott performed a new song, tentatively named "1975" from his forthcoming project at the Texan music festival South by Southwest on March 13, 2014. Scott later revealed on Twitter that the song is not named "1975" and that it would be included on his second mixtape, Days Before Rodeo. Rodeo will be confirmed as the official name for his major-label debut studio album on his Twitter account later today. Scott unveiled the complete version of the song, with the new name "Don't Play" featuring a sample of the English rock band's "M.O.N.E.Y" from 1975. "Don't Play" was officially announced as the lead single from Days Before Rodeo on July 11, 2014, via digital distribution.

Following the success of Days Before Rodeo, Scott revealed that he would headline The Rodeo Tour, with rapper Young Thug and producer Metro Boomin. The tour began in Santa Ana, California, on March 1, 2015, and ended on April 1, 2015, in Portland, Oregon. The tour went through major cities such as Denver, Colorado, Houston, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Detroit, Michigan, Detroit, Michigan, New York City, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, San Diego, California, and Seattle, Washington. After his first shows sold out, second shows were added to some towns, such as Los Angeles and New York City. Artists such as Kanye West, Chris Brown, Wale, and Birdman made special guest appearances in certain cities.

Grand Hustle and Epic Records announced Rodeo on September 4, 2015. Quavo, Juicy J, Kanye West, The Weeknd, Swae Lee, Chief Keef, Young Thug, and Toro y Moi are among the artists on the album, which also includes musicians from Mike Dean, Kanye West, WondaGurl, DJ Dahi, Young Thug, Taipe Thug, and Thomas Reid. It also debuted on the Billboard Rap Albums chart at number one.

Jody Gerson, the CEO of Universal Music Publishing Group, announced on September 12, 2016 that the company had signed a worldwide deal with Scott.

In the same episode as Scott premiered Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight, he revealed that he would be executive producing on Kanye West's Cruel Winter, a sequel to his G.O.D.'s. Cruel Summer is the debut compilation by the music label on its debut. "Very youthful, straight to the point, like the illest album ever," the upcoming album said in the episode.

On February 16, 2017, Scott appeared at All-Star Weekend in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Champion Square. On March 10, 2017, he appeared at the New Orleans BUKU Music + Art Project festival. "Birds Eye View" was Scott's first concert tour on March 5. The dates and cities for the tour were confirmed on Monday, with it beginning on March 10, Louisiana, and ending on June 2, Eugene, Oregon. Scott appeared alongside American rapper Quavo from Migos on Drake's single "Portland," from Drake's commercial mixtape More Life in the month. The album debuted at number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100, his first top ten hit as a featured artist. Scott announced in March 2017 that he would be launching Cactus Jack Records. "I'm not doing it to have financial control over my music," Scott said in an interview. I want to help other musicians, so start new ones, so that I can give others the opportunity. I want to do for them what happened to me, but it could be better. By better, I mean no bullshit. No one is lying to the artists about album launch dates or the spending of videos and albums. Scott revealed on June 15, 2017 that he would be doing a European leg of the "Birds Eye View Tour." The European leg began in Paris on June 23 and ended in Turku, Finland, on July 9. This leg was mainly festival sets or in smaller club venues.

Scott was on a collaborative studio album with Quavo, and it was expected to be published later this year. He told GQ, 'The Quavo album is coming soon.' Soon, I'm getting new music. I do know how I do it, but I'm not sure how I do it: I like surprises. Scott's third studio album Astroworld, named after the defunct Houston theme park of the same name, is nearing completion and will most likely be released in 2017.

After teasing on social media for some time, Scott premiered three new tracks on SoundCloud on May 16, 2017.
